Sauce Tomato 'San Marzano'
I have grown my share of Romas and other hybrids, but ‘San Marzano’ is the best sauce tomato. It is an heirloom variety packed with flavor, still widely used by the commercial tomato industry today because of… its FLAVOR. A beautiful paste texture and flavor makes it ideal for canning, saucing and roasting. This classic Italian paste tomato produces in high yields and is an indeterminate variety.

A Note from the Grower
A good sauce tomato is important to get right. The flavor and meatiness is everything! You may have to chuck a few more of these tomatoes out during the growing season than you might from a hybrid sauce tomato, but because of San Marzano’s high yield and flavor, you’ll get over it.
