I selected the dill variety ‘Dukat’ because of its sweet flavor and ability to hold leaves on the plant longer. A Note from the Grower
Dill is a flavor that every American should be able to invoke in their mind at the ready. It is the flavor of summer cookouts and the pickle spear on the side at your favorite deli. My mother always told me when I was growing up that dill reminded her of two beloved aunts and summers sunning in slips. I think that is the epitome of this herb. Dill is an old-fashioned flavor that evokes memories. It also creates memories!
Similar to mint, dill is a touch difficult to control. So, unless you want a fence row of the stuff (which is okay), avoid allowing the plant to go to seed by harvesting/pruning regularly. Read up on care in the Plant Guide.
