Currant Tomato 'Candyland Red'

$5.50

‘Candyland Red’ stands out from its other currant tomato competition because of its tidy growth habit and earlier harvest. It’s easy to see why it’s an All-America Selection winner. While it is an indeterminate tomato, its growth habit is easier to manage by the grower because the plant branches in a way that allows for low-damage picking. Try it and see for yourself!

Height: ~5-7’

A Note from the Grower

Cherry tomatoes are my favorite tomato to grow because they’re such cute and versatile fruit—a snack packed with nutrients and sweetness. Because currant, cherry and grape tomatoes often run together in size, blurring the lines, I am going to call this category snack tomatoes. That’s what they are!

Snack tomatoes may be towering pillars of work, but there is nothing like stepping out to the garden and popping a sweet bite-size tomato into your mouth. Plus, it’s the best way to get kids interested in tomtaoes!

This season, I have SEVEN options for you! They range in plant size because I know that the biggest complaint about snack tomatoes is having to harvest the monstrous plants. Haha! I hear you. My selected varieties vary in flavor and color to make your harvest beautiful and delicious!

I enjoy my snack tomatoes fresh, but they are fantastic blistered in the oven with olive oil, fresh herbs and your favorite goat cheese. Head over to the Plant Guide to learn more about tomato care.
