A Note from the Grower
A good stand of rosemary is extremely beneficial to have around for culinary and ornamental purposes. Use in drinks, dishes and your favorite vase for the kitchen windowsill. I think of rosemary most in fall and winter months when I am in the mood for stews and roasts.
I suggest growing rosemary, harvesting sprigs throughout the summer to dry for later use. Because of its native environment, rosemary retains flavorful oils in its leaves even when dried.
While rosemary is technically perennial in Kansas, it sometimes struggles to make it through our dry winters, another reason to dry sprigs for later use. Learn more about rosemary care in the Plant Guide.
