Lemon Grass
Pre-order for local pick-up available as early as April 15.
Cymbopogon (lemon grass) is a true grass in the family Poaceae. Its an annual that has a mild citrus flavor and scent. Though an annual, it grows at such a speedy rate over the summer, that it will reach at least 3’ by the end of the growing season!
Lemon grass is grown for its mosquito repellant qualities, but also to use in asian cuisine. Add to a pot on your front porch, deck or patio, for easy access and practicality. Read my take on lemongrass below…
Height: ~3-4’
Spread: ~12-16”

A Note from the Grower
I thought that lemon grass was not a fan of clay soils, but after trying it in ground, it didn’t sweat my Kansas clay soil! You can either plant in ground or in a container, but if you are using it to repel insects, container planting may be best to keep it close to your seating area. I’ve done a brief run down of care requirements in the Plant Guide.
