A Note from the Grower
Bee balm has many uses, and I love plants with beauty and function! As mentioned, it is a pollinator magnet. It is also excellent when incorporated in teas or garnishing desserts. AND, like all edible flowers, you can also enjoy its ornamental value by cutting the blooms for a cut flower arrangement. Believe me, there will be plenty of blooms left for the bees…
Because this monarda is an annual, it is more manageable year to year than its cousins mint and wild bergamot, but it will reseed readily. Keep that in mind when choosing a planting location. It can be successfully cultured in ground or in a container! Learn more about lemon monarda in the Plant Guide.
