A Note from the Grower
I love chives in the garden because there is no easier herb to grow, and they’re always around, ready for the picking. There are two main chive flavors—onion and garlic. Both are important cornerstone herbs to include in your garden.
In my opinion, they are also one of the more beautiful plants in the onion family. Their pom-pom-like flowers bloom in shades of pink to lavender each spring and the blooms are also edible!
Chives are extremely hardy and are usually the first perennial herbs to emerge each spring. Read more about chive culture in my Plant Guide.
