A Note from the Grower
Bronze fennel is flat out cool! While the garden is overflowing with greens of various hues, this plant has unusual color and texture to offer. I plant a whole hedge of this every year and it feeds me and my caterpillars.
Bronze fennel can be harvested as an herb or seed, but does not form a bulb. I prefer to grow for its leaves, flowers and ornamental value rather than harvesting the bulb anyway.
Fennel has a mild anise flavor that works beautifully in roast dishes, soups and ground meats.
