Shawnee Butterfly Planter, Midcentury

$32.00
Sold Out

This Shawnee planter has a 2.5” wide opening, making it perfect for a small succulent. The butterfly alighting on this flowery log is a unique design for any nature enthusiast.

Kitschy and colorful, there’s something so stylish about Midcentury pieces. I am a big believer in curating shelf style. Find a piece that catches your eye and give it new life!

A note about the pottery…

World War II greatly influenced the beginnings of many American manufacturing companies, including Shawnee Pottery Company. Starting in 1937 and operating until 1961 in Zanesville, Ohio, Shawnee Pottery received its name and logo due to the large number of arrowheads found in the area. Most of their products could be found in “five-and-dime” stores back in the day, and Shawnee items have now become quite collectable.

Vintage Finds

Every vintage item that I forage has at least one story to tell. Use your imagination! Because vintage pottery has lived life, there may be minor crazing in the glaze or potential for it in future. Vintage pieces have much life to live yet, but water and extreme temperatures can accelerate wear. Rather than planting directly into your vintage cache pots and planters, I recommend using a protective plastic saucer inside your pieces to protect the glazing, dropping the grower pot straight into the saucer. Display them in a climate-controlled area. Keep in mind that all purchases on my website are final sale. If you have questions about piece quality, send them here!
