RENATA’S HOUSEPLANTS

In this area, I have compiled my videos that feature specific houseplants. From amaryllis bulbs to ferns to succulent strings, I have many houseplants to cover. Usually, I try to care for each type of houseplant in order to advise you based on my current experience and past knowledge. Welcome to my jungle!

Pups & Such

Sometimes, it's hard to know what's going on in our plant's inner workings. In this episode of Unearth Horticulture, I go into the details of plants that pup and sometimes grow terminal flower spikes. Check out this video if you're into agave, succulents, bromeliads and other plants that produce pups!

Amaryllis Care

Have you ever wondered what to do with your indoor potted bulbs after they're spent? In this video, I address how to handle bulbs after their flowers are spent. Some bulbs are hardy enough to bloom more than once!

Aroid Plants

If you have a tropical houseplant, chances are that you have an aroid (a.k.a. plant belonging to the Araceae plant family). In this week's episode of Unearth Horticulture, I present a few of the character traits that make aroids one of the most collectible plant families in the houseplant world. Toward the end, I also demonstrate how to divide your aroid if it pups!

Succulent String Care

One of the most common problems I have been hearing on the Plant Bus is succulent care, specifically, succulent string care. You know... string of pearls, string of hearts, string of turtles, and so on. If you've struggled with a succulent or if you're thinking about taking on this group of plants, tune into this episode to learn how to keep your succulent strings thriving!

Renata’s Houseplants Part 2

Renata’s Houseplants Part 1

In this part one of two, I walk you through a handful of my current houseplant successes and struggles. Through this format of video, I'm hoping that you can take away an idea of how a trained eye looks at plants and works to diagnose problems. Also, you'll see that having a background in horticulture doesn't mean that I always have direct answers. Plant health is a process of trial and error oftentimes, but it helps to have a place to start!

In this video I show you my lifesaver plant, moth orchid, curly spider plant and anthurium.

In part two of this episode, I finish walking you through my houseplants and their current happenings. I show a philodendron hybrid from pup to adult, a pothos that suffers from neglect, a money tree with stacks of issues, and my dragon tail plant's latest new leaves. Tune in to learn more about pest control, plant patent rights, leaf spot diagnosis and more!

Ferns & Fronds

In this mobile episode of Unearth Horticulture, I walk you through a few ferns that are on board the Plant Bus. Not only will you learn about specific fern morphology, but also a bit more about fern care and what makes them unique to other houseplants.
